Job Description

Position Summary

The Technical Recruiter will identify, engage, screen and present qualified and industry-experienced talent to support large-scale, schedule-driven construction and mechanical contracting projects. This role focuses on proactive sourcing within the automotive, construction, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) or mission-critical sectors, ensuring needs are met in alignment with project timelines. This role will work very closely and collaboratively with hiring managers to ensure their needs are understood and the most qualified candidates are presented for consideration.

Key Responsibilities

Industry Talent Identification & Sourcing

  • Proactively identify, engage and screen candidates with direct industry experience including engineers, project managers, superintendents and field leadership.
  • Maintain active pipelines through industry networks, referrals and other trade partnerships (where applicable).
  • Facilitates contacts by creating and maintaining a presence in the technical/industry community and marketplace.
  • Attend job fairs and industry conferences; presence in company booth at job fairs.
  • Maintains regular contact with candidates to keep them apprised of the status of their applications and maintain a positive candidate experience.

Large-Scale Project Staffing Support

  • Partner with project and operations leadership to understand project scope, schedule, timing, etc and translate into scalable staffing plans.

Technical Screening & Selection

  • Collaborates with hiring managers to understand the needs and roles, reviews job descriptions for vacancies.
  • Assists with the development and revision of job specifications and job descriptions for specific roles.
  • Conduct technical candidate screening to assess project experience, industry specific expertise, educational background, and overall leadership capability.
  • Partner with 3rd party firms when necessary to support with recruitment process.

HR Partnership & Compliance

  • Ensure recruiting practices align with HR, legal, and compliance standards while supporting hiring needs.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent recruiting experience).
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience in automotive, construction, MEP, or mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a high requisition workload.
  • Working knowledge of HR Generalist duties and employment practices, awareness of HR Generalist processes and policies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication along with interpersonal skills.
  • Thorough understanding of technology, technical roles and technical skills.
  • Thorough understanding of specific industry needs, specialized roles and areas of technical expertise.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data center or industrial construction projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to travel on recruiting assignments.
