Survey Crew Chief Responsibilities:
- Lead and operate a field survey crew to complete projects in alignment with regulatory standards, client expectations, and safety requirements.
- Collect and record accurate field data using total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Interpret project plans, organize daily field tasks, and ensure all crew members follow safe work practices.
- Oversee field logistics, including vehicle/equipment use, site safety, and data quality control.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of fieldwork, expenses, and deliverables to the office team.
- Communicate with project managers and clients regarding progress, findings, and any issues encountered in the field.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated; troubleshoot basic technical issues on-site.
- Travel occasionally for overnight work depending on project needs.
- Work year-round in varying outdoor conditions, including uneven terrain and extreme temperatures.
