Principal Civil Engineer - Roadway

Southstar | DCCM has an immediate opening for an experienced Principal Civil Engineer - Roadway to oversee Capital Improvement Program construction projects for our public agency clients. The full-time hybrid position (remote and job site) will be filled in out of our Riverside office and require travel to serve our clients throughout the region.

Successful Principal Civil Engineer - Roadway Candidates Should Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 15 +years relevant civil engineering experience
• 5+ years as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California
• 10+ years of Project Management experience on roadway projects in all facets of public works
• Experience managing municipal or public-sector projects (state, county, city, and federal).
• Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, multi-disciplinary teams, and management
• Proven comprehensive plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) delivery experience
• Project management experience, including developing scopes of work, reviewing invoices, and managing client communications
• Ability to manage several subconsultants and internal staff on a multi-disciplinary team
• Design and construction support experience with transportation projects
• Prior consulting experience managing municipal (state, county, city) projects
• Proficient with MS Office and AutoCAD
• Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communications skills
• Proficient with Deltek Vantagepoint (highly preferred)
