Job Description
Aviation Search Group is working exclusively with a confidential client, a lessor of Boeing 767 freighter aircraft, to identify a new President. This key executive will be responsible for ensuring the timely, efficient, and cost-effective acquisition, modification, and global deployment of cargo aircraft. Our client is seeking a dynamic, seasoned leader with the vision and expertise to guide and expand a world-class cargo aircraft management organization.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the major operational departments, Acquisition, Airframes, Power Plants, Contracts, and Lease Administration. Ensures that they are communicating effectively and working as a coordinated and efficient system to meet company goals.
- Contributes to the overall strategic direction and business plan. Helps translate corporate goals into tangible activities in each department.
- Responsible for negotiation, contract execution, and relationship management of significant contracts and/or vendors, i.e., Aircraft Conversion Providers, OEMs, Airframe and Engine Maintenance Providers.
- Ensures that assets are prepared in accordance with various contracts. Maximizes profit under those agreements by controlling costs and delivering superior service to the operators.
- Allocates resources as needed to deliver aircraft in accordance with contracted timelines.
- Works with each operational department to improve efficiency by developing and monitoring key metrics. Sets operational goals based on these measurements and holds the departments accountable to those goals.
- Oversee the coordination of commercial fleet planning and communications.
- Oversight of assets and acquisitions management.
- Responsible for all budget, P/L, and finance results.
Required Job Skills:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, aviation management, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience leading successful teams in a highly related business such as commercial aviation, air cargo, aircraft maintenance, and/or aircraft leasing.
- Experience managing a dynamic and rapidly growing function.
- Requires self-motivation, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a high/executive level of management, contracts, and public contact experience, including strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, solid decision making, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environment, solid customer focus, strong planning, good relationship building skills, and organizational skills.
- Proven skills should include leadership, leadership development, business and financial acumen, excellent decision making, high energy, composure, approachability, visible leadership, and the skill to build high-performing teams through inclusion, consensus, and creativity.
- Particular critical leadership traits are results-oriented.
- Must be familiar with applicable FAA and IATA regulations.
Preferred Job Skills:
- Specific experience in aircraft acquisition, passenger-to-cargo modifications, and powerplant power-by-cycle contracts would all be advantageous.
- Master’s degree in business, etc.
Travel Requirements:
25% travel is required in the domestic US and international destinations to meet with customers, vendors worldwide. The length of travel is typically not over a week in duration.
