KD Assets is a fast-growing, sustainable electronics reseller dedicated to giving pre-owned IT equipment a second life. We specialize in inspecting, testing, and refurbishing laptops, desktops, servers, and mobile devices for resale to consumers and businesses. We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Technician to join our team, helping us process incoming equipment and get it ready for its new home.
Job Summary:
As a Warehouse Technician, you are the backbone of our operations. You will be responsible for receiving used IT equipment, conducting data sanitation, performing functional tests, cosmetically cleaning devices, and prepping them for resale. You will use our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track items accurately and ensure high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Receive & Inspect: Unpack and inspect incoming IT hardware, verifying model numbers and components.
· Data Security: Execute data wiping/sanitization to industry standards (NIST) on laptops, servers, and hard drives.
· Functional Testing: Troubleshoot and test key features (keyboard, trackpad, ports, screen, battery) and log results in the WMS.
· Refurbishment: Perform basic repairs, such as replacing batteries, upgrading RAM/SSDs, and removing asset tags.
· Cosmetic Grading: Carefully inspect and grade units based on condition (A-D).
· Logistics & Inventory: Pick, pack, and ship orders, including cleaning, bagging, and labeling devices for safe transit. On-site pickups in our work vehicles.
· Warehouse Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Experience in IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), computer repair, electronics recycling, or a fast-paced warehouse environment.
· Tech Savvy: Strong familiarity with Windows and Apple hardware. Experience with diagnostic tools is a plus.
· Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to recording serial numbers, diagnosing issues, and grading cosmetic condition.
· Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift/carry up to 50 lbs regularly.
· Process Driven: Ability to follow strict SOPs regarding data safety and inventory management.
