Description :
TITLE: Patient Care Technician (Float Pool)
Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician to join their Float Pool on a 13-week contract . This is a deferred schedule position with 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.) , working 36 guaranteed hours per week with the option to increase to 48 hours/week if desired.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
Required :
• Travel experience required
• Acute care experience required
• BLS required
• CNA preferred
Local candidates preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with patient transport and transfers
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula, NRB, and BVM
• Apply NIBP, ECG electrodes, pulse oximetry, and capnography monitoring
• Respond to patient call lights and family requests as appropriate
• Support patient safety and provide age-appropriate care
• Assist with activities of daily living within scope
• Float to various units as needed
• Report changes in patient condition promptly to the RN
• Accurately obtain, document, and report vital signs
• Measure and document intake and output
• Perform capillary blood glucose testing and ECGs
• Participate in unit or hospital improvement projects
• Perform other duties as assigned
