Job Title: General Superintendent - Commercial Construction (Retail & Restaurant)

Client Details

We are a Commercial Construction General Contractor that specializes in building product within the Retail and Restaurant market segment. We are looking for a General Superintendent to mentor, develop and manage our projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead field staff on multiple projects in the California region.

Job Summary

We are seeking a General Superintendent with a proven track record in tenant improvement as well as small scale ground up construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the oversight and execution of multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, on budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality. This individual will manage field Superintendents, lead a team of 20+ employees and be instrumental in developing field staff and maintaining a culture of safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations on multiple project sites from a macro view.
• Supervise Superintendents to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications and schedules with subcontractors
• Lead, mentor and develop field employees, fostering professional growth and skill advancement
• Ensure strict adherence to safety policies and procedures; actively promoting a culture of safety
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance.
• Utilize ProCore for daily reports, scheduling updates and document control.
• Assist in hiring and training new field personnel.
• Develop staff to meet their professional goals in progressing through their career.
• Travel to projects in Los Angeles, Orange County and the Inland Empire.
• Occasionally travel to project sites in Arizona.
• Work from the office when not going to project sites.

Requirements

• Minimum 7-10 years experience as a Sr. Superintendent in Commercial Construction.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams of 20 or more employees.
• Proficient in ProCore.
• In depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• OSHA 30 Certification preferred
