Title: Construction Field Engineer

Location: Midland, TX then Jal, NM

Project: Gas Plant

Duration: 11+ Months

Pay Range: $55 - 65/hr

Per Diem: $120/day

Expected work schedule: 50 hours but will ramp up to 60 when nearing completion

Target start date / availability: Early August

Mob/demob: Up to $500 each way

Our client is a leading turnkey mechanical general contractor supporting oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities nationwide.

This role will serve as a key liaison between field operations and the engineering team based at the home office. The ideal candidate has strong construction field experience, preferably in gas plant or midstream settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the on-site engineering representative, communicating progress and technical issues back to the home office
• Interface directly with client representatives, including PMs, superintendents, and schedulers
• Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Coordinate with Piping, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation contractors to streamline field execution
• Assist with RFI management, submittal tracking, and resolution of field engineering issues
• Provide technical input to resolve design challenges in the field with minimal impact to schedule
• Act as liaison between construction and engineering to support inspections, reviews, and documentation

Qualifications:

• Prior field engineering or construction coordination experience on industrial projects (gas plants, refineries, midstream facilities)
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, field execution, and contractor interfacing
• Familiarity with project schedules, earned value tracking, and construction progress reporting (Preferred, not required)
• Hands-on experience resolving technical or design-related field issues
• Comfortable working in a client-facing role on active job sites
