Clinical Lead – Surgery
Location: SAGE Redwood City, CA
Compensation: $30 – $48 hourly (plus $5.50 differential for any hours worked between 6pm and 6am)
About the Role
SAGE Redwood City is seeking a Clinical Lead – Surgery to guide and support our surgical department. This role is ideal for a skilled Veterinary Technician who is passionate about patient care and leadership. You’ll manage a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants, mentor colleagues, and help shape a collaborative, efficient, and compassionate workplace.

Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of RVTs and Veterinary Assistants.
- Oversee scheduling, payroll, and staffing for the department.
- Support and assess staff training, development, and performance.
- Promote safety, client satisfaction, and adherence to best practices.
- Provide strong clinical expertise and hands-on support in surgery.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in veterinary medicine.
- CA RVT license preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform accurate medical calculations (drug doses, CRIs, invoices, etc.).
- Must hold or obtain a California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived if you have a valid CA-RVT license).
