Job Description

Well-established new car dealership group is looking for an experience Automotive Controller to join their team due to continued growth. Prior experience as an Automotive Controller in a franchised new-car dealership is required. The ideal candidate will have a history of successfully managing dealership accounting departments and will be known for being both a strong leader and a hands-on mentor. They must be adept at closing month-end financials accurately and on time, and have deep knowledge of all aspects of dealership accounting to effectively guide and train their team. The Comptroller hired will be expected to foster collaboration, maintain high morale, and ensure their office runs smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented, process-driven Controller who enjoys identifying ways to reduce expenses, increase profitability, and support senior management decisions—while also keeping daily operations on track at the store level. We are looking for a team-focused leader who communicates clearly, mentors effectively, and takes pride in building a high-functioning accounting department. Experience on Reynolds and Reynolds is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the financial activities of the dealership
• Prepare and submit the monthly financial statements to the factory / OEM
• Manage the accounting team and provide leadership, guidance, and cross-training
• Develop and maintain accurate financial records for the dealership
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management
• Prepare financial reports and present them to management
• Maintain regular communication with the store level General Managers on the standings of the dealership, cost saving measures, and any issues that may require their attention
• Provide financial guidance to management and assist in decision-making
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
• Review and approve financial transactions
• Maintain effective communication with management and other departments
• Other duties as assigned

Compensation:

• Compensation in the $110,000- $130,000+ range based on experience.
• Employee portion of health premium is 100% covered.

Relocation:

• Serious relocation candidates will be considered for this role. Must have experience as an Automotive Controller within a new car dealership within the United States.
