Aurex Group is partnered with an international metals trading house to hire a Manager, Metals Trucking & Logistics for their Chicago office. This role will oversee end-to-end domestic transportation of base metals, coordinating with global logistics teams and supporting the trading desk through timely shipments, trade compliance, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate all aspects of inland and cross-border trucking for base metals, including cobalt and battery materials
• Manage shipment scheduling, dispatch, and tracking to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency
• Communicate with trucking companies, warehouses, smelters, and terminals to manage pickup and delivery timelines
• Ensure accuracy of shipping documentation (bills of lading, packing lists, customs docs, etc.) and alignment with Incoterms and contractual obligations
• Support traders and operations teams by proactively resolving transportation delays, freight claims, or cargo discrepancies
• Maintain and update internal systems with shipment status, costs, and performance metrics
• Collaborate with finance for freight invoice approvals and settlements
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during the transportation of hazardous or regulated materials
• Work closely with the traffic and trading teams to improve logistics strategies and optimize margins

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in traffic, trucking coordination, or logistics within the commodities (bulk, agri, metals)
• Strong understanding of North American trucking networks, Incoterms such as FCA and DDP and transportation documentation
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, stakeholders, and systems simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics systems
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills
• Knowledge of warehousing, transloading, and international trade logistics a plus
