Job Description

Position Summary

The Sanitation Worker is an essential member of our cleaning team, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all PacMoore facilities. This role ensures that every area meets the Quality Control and Bacterial Standards required by our customers and regulatory agencies. This is a third-shift position with limited supervision, so a high level of integrity and self-motivation is essential.

  • Physical Strength & Endurance:Lift up to 100 lbs. occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly; perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and handling objects.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean assigned areas of the plant, including but not limited to:
    • Raw material warehouse (twice daily)
    • Warehouse racks (replace plastics as needed)
    • Immediate cleanup of product spills
    • Bathrooms and locker rooms
    • Truck driver’s lobby
    • Receiving area
    • Wet wash area (twice daily)
    • Assist with snow removal and other outdoor tasks as needed
  • Monitor and maintain food safety standards, including Critical Control Points (CCPs) and HACCP guidelines.
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in environments with intermittent noise (ear plugs required), dust, chemicals, and allergens (safety gear provided).
  • Adhere to a 40-hour work week, with overtime as needed during peak periods.
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and in uniform.
  • Participate in pre-shift exercise routines.
  • Maintain proper hygiene and wear all required safety gear (hair net, beard cover, ear plugs, hard hat, safety mask).
  • Handle company property safely to prevent damage or contamination.
  • Wash hands after breaks and meals.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and all company policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and move around for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
  • Physical Strength: Exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Movement: Occasional climbing, stooping (bending body forward and down), crouching (bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine), reaching (extending arms and hands in any direction), and handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands).

  • Collaborate daily with coworkers, shift supervisors, plant managers, and quality department staff.
  • Work effectively within a culturally diverse team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Make decisions within established guidelines.
  • Willingness to accept supervision, follow procedures, and commit to safety and quality standards.
