Job Description

Summary

We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to manage and oversee field safety across the facility and yard. Report to the Mid-Atlantic Safety Director, the Safety Coordinator will support in the implementation of the HSE program.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work sites to ensure working conditions are compliant with OSHA standards and internal safety processes and procedures
• Participate in Safety and Security audits on-site, reporting results and creating a corrective action plan with both Safety and Operations leadership
• Ensure internal and external safety policies, as well as OSHA compliance is adhered to throughout the facility and yard on a daily basis
• Ensure all company incident files remain confidential and are compliant with regulatory and company standards
• Work with site leadership to ensure all safety concerns are addressed and rectified in a timely manner
• Implement safety policies and procedures across all teams through both on the spot coaching as well as class room environments
• Ensure all health, safety and security protocols are enforced in all company activities
• Facilitate and lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings as assigned.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor weather and refrigerated warehouse settings.

Qualifications

• 4 years degree, preferred in Occupational Health & Safety or Engineering
• 3+ years of Safety experience, preferably within a maritime or union labor environment
• Proficient in MS Office
• Valid TWIC preferred, or the ability to obtain with 90 days of Employment
