Join Our Team as a Safety Manager at Duraflake!

Are you a dedicated safety professional looking for a rewarding career in a dynamic 24/7 manufacturing environment. Duraflake is seeking a passionate and experienced Safety Manager to lead the administration of all health and safety functions within our plant. This role reports directly to the Plant Manager and is based at our site in Albany, OR. ***Relocation Assistance available for those out of state or outside of reasonable commuting distance.

What We’re Looking For

· 4+ years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment. Experience with heavy industrial manufacturing equipment.

· Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong follow-up abilities

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and effectively works with various computer programs

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

· A Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Sciences (preferred)

· Experience with SAP (preferred)

Physical Requirements

· Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around heavy equipment and machinery

· Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment

· Capability to lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

· Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects

· Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels, and varying temperatures

Responsibilities

· Promote a healthy and safe workplace through coaching, team building, open communications, and active involvement in the workplace. Must be able to indirectly influence operational leaders in safe work practices and focused safe behaviors

· Ensure health and safety programs and hazard identification and controls comply with company, plant, and State/federal regulations

· Collect and report on plant safety programs and results

· Manage new employee/contractor safety orientation

· Lead hazard analysis activities to ensure safe work processes and practices are identified and implemented

· Investigate and report on all accidents/incidents, ensuring causes are identified and recommendations are appropriate

· Ensure proper and timely incident reports with corrective actions tracked to completion
