Director of Occupational Safety in Corona, CA, Job 1813

We are recruiting for a full-time Director of Occupational Safety for our fast-growing Specialty Construction client in Corona, CA. This NEWLY Created position requires being on-site in Corona, CA. Relocation assistance within the US is available. This is one of over 50 current EHS positions being recruited for nationwide.

What you will be doing:

Initially reporting to the Director of HR the Director of Occupational Safety will be responsible for the management, overall direction and oversight of EHS programs to support the facility.

You will implement, audit and continuously improve EHS practices, policies and procedures with the goal of achieving the highest levels of protection for employees and company assets, while working with operations and other business leaders to achieve the highest levels of efficient productivity.

• Minimum Requirements:Unrestricted authorization to work for any employer in the United States.
• 10+ years of Safety experience in a construction environment
• Demonstrated experience with construction occupational safety risks including, but not limited to, fall from heights, lift trucks, trenching and excavation, hot work and confined space.
• Demonstrated success establishing relevant KPI’s and other metrics as well as the coordinated analysis tools
• Demonstrated success establishing a “Culture of Safety and Injury Avoidance”

• Special consideration for candidates who in addition have:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline
• Professional Certification (CSP, CHST, etc.)
• Bilingual English / Spanish

• Major Responsibilities:Partner with site leadership and serve as SME regarding interpretation of federal, state and local H&S regulations
• Establish corporate and local Safety strategies, goals and tactics
• Lead, manage and develop a team of junior safety professionals
• Lead Safety audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed
• Build and maintain positive relationships with federal, state and local regulators
• Design, develop and lead employee training programs regarding Safe Working behaviors and compliance
• Maintain and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state and local Safety regulations
