Painter I is responsible for preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces. This role involves basic tasks such as surface preparation, masking, and clean-up. The painter will help prepare surfaces, mix paints for different needs, and apply them with brushes or rollers to fill in cracks or apply color on walls and doors.

Essential Functions:

• Applies various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.
• Prepares, cleans, and tapes all jobsites.
• Removes old paint coating, if necessary.
• Mix colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency and other finishes according to project requirements.
• Cleans and maintains painting equipment and tools.
• Moves necessary materials around jobsite as assigned.
• Cleans up worksite debris.
• Follows safety protocols and maintains a clean work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Capable of receiving and following instructions and communicating with co-workers
• Able to read and adhere to labels, safety warnings, and guidelines
• Attentive to detail and always alert to ensure safety

Minimum:

• High school diploma is an asset
• Previous painting experience preferred
• Proficiency with painting tools and equipment
• Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment
• Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods of time
• Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic

Preferred:

• Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus
