Location: Jefferson, OH Position: Office Assistant Rate of Pay: $15 hour Hours: 20-30 hours per week Summary: The Ashtabula County Building Department is seeking a temporary employee to assist with a document scanning and records management project. Job Responsibilities: Prepare paper files and records for scanning, including removing staples, organizing, and indexing. Operate scanning equipment and upload files into the County's electronic system. Perform quality control checks to ensure scanned documents are accurate and complete. Maintain confidentiality of all records in accordance with County policy and Ohio law. Perform other project-related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Applicant must be 18 years or older, must possess a high school diploma or proof of GED. Basic computer skills and ability to learn scanning software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift and move boxes of records (up to 25 lbs.) Ability to work independently and manage repetitive tasks with accuracy. Must pass post-offer physical and drug screen as well as BCI Fingerprint background check. Additional Information: Temporary employees are not eligible for County health insurance or paid leave benefits Position is non-union and does not fall within a bargaining unit.
