Job Title: Gas & Chemical Equipment Technician

Job Location: Sunnyvale, CA - 94085

Job Duration: 12 months (potential to convert to a permanent position)

Shift time : Will be assigned to A, B, C D, compressed shift (7:00am – 7:30pm or 7:00pm – 7:30am). TBD

The temporary shift Monday – Friday 07:00 am – 03:30pm for the first 2 – 3 months for new hire training. Once completed, the worker will be assigned to Shift.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

Technicians will be responsible for the safe operation of assigned chemical and/or gas distribution systems, with duties including:

• Handling and change-out of gas, chemical, and slurry containers
• Gas and chemical equipment troubleshooting and preventative/repair maintenance
• Computer operations to support job functions and customer needs
• Support of quality systems

REQUIRED EDUCATION/ SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid Driver's license
• Must speak English.
• If you have previous experience in Manufacturing, Gas and Oil, Chemical Technician, Industrial Mechanics, Production Technician, Bio-Tech, Automotive and Mechanics, Waste and Wastewater Treatment, Power Plant, or Refinery this could be a great fit for you!

PREFERRED EDUCATION/ SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE:

• Prior experience in maintenance or as an equipment technician or in a mechanical or electronic environment is a plus
• Previous experience with chemical and gas distribution equipment is helpful but not a must
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Military training is welcomed.
• Strong technical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Walking up to 5 or 6 miles per day
• Occasionally may need to climb a tanker truck (18-wheeler), while using fall protection, to off-load chemicals into a drum.
• In some cases, Technicians must put on supplied Contained Breathing Air Respirator (this type of respirator provides air from a cylinder through a mask connected to the cylinder) while working with chemicals (approx. 10-15 minutes)
• Basic lifting (up to 40lbs)
• Bending of the knees and overhead reaching
• PPE made available to workers include safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, chemical apron, gloves, etc.
• The worker will be provided a voucher to purchase safety boots, which they are required to wear
• A Fit for Duty Evaluation will be required prior to reporting and annually which includes: Pulmonary Function Test for wearing a respirator, audiogram baseline for wearing hearing protection, and physical exam.
• Workers are required to complete hazardous communication training (Right to Know) before work. There are no planned activities or work in which a worker is exposed to any of the products used onsite.
