Position: Litigation Legal Assistant
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (Hybrid - Remote Fridays)
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 + Overtime
Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Overview:
A prestigious Midtown law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and paralegal support to a team of attorneys. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on complex litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to multiple attorneys.
Prepare and file legal documents in state and federal courts.
Draft and format pleadings, discovery documents, and correspondence.
Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling meetings, depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
Coordinate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel as needed.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar databases.
Maintain case files and organize documents electronically and in hard copy.
Track attorney time, prepare expense reports, and assist with billing.
Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Best Authority or similar citation tools.
Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures.
Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with document management systems (e.g., NetDocs) and timekeeping software (e.g., SurePoint) preferred.
