Job Description

Pemberton Transportation Services, Inc. is based in Knoxville, TN. We are seeking to hire a new member for our Transportation Services department. The ideal candidate will have a team personality, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced industry, and strong communication skills to grow and sustain business relationships with customers and carriers. This position comes with a base salary along with an outstanding commission compensation plan that maximizes earning potential. Excellent earnings potential.

Day-to-Day Functions of the Position:

• Facilitate new customer and carrier opportunities by carrying out prospective calls and emails
• Utilize our TMS system for order building and planning, carrier monitoring, and customer relationship management
• Function as the single point of contact between customers and carriers as the product moves across the supply chain
• Communicate proactively and quickly with customers, carriers, shippers, receivers, scheduling contacts, etc. to assure proper movement of the product and on-time pickup and delivery is met
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current market conditions and key economic indicators to have the ability to negotiate properly with customers and carriers

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 1-2 years prior Transportation/Logistics industry experience preferred; customer service, sales or operations experience will be taken into consideration
• Strong customer service, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to balance multiple tasks at once and schedule your time accordingly
• Sales-oriented individual with the motivation to make several outreaches via emails and calls each day
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, Email, Zoom, and websites
• Experience using a TMS system preferred but not required
