Job Description

 Delmar Systems is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team in Fourchon, Louisiana. This position plays a critical role in supporting our base operations by ensuring the safe handling, movement, and storage of equipment and materials. The ideal candidate will bring proven forklift experience, strong attention to safety, and the ability to contribute to Delmar’s commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement. 

***This position will require suitable housing within 50 miles of Fourchon, and also transportation to Fourchon, LA. There is no housing on location, and there is no available perdiem.***

• Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner for the movement, loading, unloading, and storage of equipment and materials. 
• Perform daily forklift inspections, report defects, and ensure equipment remains in safe working order. 
• Clean and maintain forklifts and other assigned equipment as instructed by the Base Manager or delegate. 
• Dispatch equipment as specified by the Equipment List or Order. 
• Prepare equipment and materials for load-out, ensuring stability and security of all forklift loads. 
• Receive, control, band, mark, and store equipment at the base in line with Company and industry standards. 
• Conduct mandatory inspections, certifications, and reporting relevant to forklift use and other base equipment. 
• Handle equipment in a safe manner, maintaining control of all forklift loads at all times. 
• Inspect and prepare loads to ensure safe transport; select and apply appropriate rigging gear when required. 
• Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use, maintaining rigging and forklift-related equipment as required. 
• Update and maintain the asset management system, including forklift usage logs, where required. 
• Create and report equipment loading lists/cargo manifests prior to mobilization and demobilization. 
• Ensure all forklift and rigging operations are in accordance with current and relevant laws, regulations, and company procedures. 
• Identify hazards and assess risks associated with forklift and rigging operations, mitigating risks to ALARP. 
• Exercise Stop Work Authority if forklift or rigging operations are unsafe. 
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency. 
• Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained at all Delmar worksites, particularly in forklift operating areas.

• Education – High School Diploma or GED. 
• Experience – Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a yard, warehouse, or similar work environment. 
• Rigging Experience and Qualification.  
• Forklift Experience and Qualification – Valid forklift operator certification/license with demonstrated competency in operating various forklift types (e.g., counterbalance, rough terrain). 
• Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, acoustical, and/or computer-based equipment. 
• General computer and office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Apply knowledge and expertise to meet individual KPIs/goals.
