Job Description
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Food Production Safety Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance across its Dallas manufacturing facility.
Summary:
This role is essential in fostering a zero-incident culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement in food safety and workplace safety programs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety and environmental programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, and FDA standards
- Lead internal safety audits and risk assessments; ensure timely corrective actions
- Provide training and technical support on safety protocols, emergency response, and food safety practices
- Partner with plant leadership to set and achieve safety KPIs and goals
- Oversee hazardous waste management and environmental reporting
- Coordinate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
- Maintain accurate safety and environmental data, including injury logs and compliance metrics
- Promote employee engagement in safety initiatives and lead emergency preparedness drills
- Support cross-functional teams in food safety, sanitation, and GMP compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Food Science, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, safety or environmental compliance
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FDA, and GMP regulations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety data management systems
- OSHA 10/30 certification preferred
- Experience with crisis management and emergency response planning
