Position Title Esports Facility Assistant

Department Recreation Services

Appointment Term Academic Year (August - May)

FLSA Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The student employee’s main duties lie in the management and execution of the policies and procedures of the Esports Arena set forth and regulated by Missouri Western State University ( MWSU ).

Essential Duties

• Validating MWSU ID’s and memberships upon arrival through the Fusion software program.
• Administering and checking required facility paperwork.
• Enforcing policies and procedures to patrons specific to assigned location.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities.
• Tracking equipment inventory through Fusion.
• All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• MWSU Student
• Degree Seeking
• At least an overall 2.0 GPA
• Enrolled at least part-time (6+ hours)
• May need to qualify for Federal Work Study eligibility

Preferred Qualifications

Esports, Recreation, or Sports Management majors; or a strong background in computer science, video games, or management. certification in CPR / AED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• General and basic knowledge of sports.
• Guest relations skills, positive personality, good judgment, proactive, attention to detail, punctuality, good oral communication skills.
• Must be able to assert authority to peers, faculty, staff, and community patrons.

Physical Demands Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Additional Demands

• Must be able to lift or push a minimum of 45 lbs
• Ability to climb a ladder and lift at least 30lbs and pull up to 100 lbs.

Hours of Work

Anticipate 10 hour per week.
Hours may vary.
