Job Description

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Colorist to join their team in NYC!

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and approve color materials—including lab dips, bulk fabrics, strike-offs, patterns, and trims—with a foundational understanding of how to provide clear color comments.
• Sort, prioritize, and process the most time-sensitive submissions, maintaining a 24–48 hour review window.
• Prepare and distribute color submits to accounts that manage their own approval process, ensuring these are identified and sent out first.
• Communicate feedback and required revisions to factories through email in a clear and timely manner.
• Conduct quality checks on bulk submissions, which may include tasks such as punching samples and verifying weights.
• Review care label layouts and text; training will be provided, though prior familiarity is beneficial.
• Maintain organized daily filing of submits and standards to support an efficient color department.
• Assist the Senior Colorist by pulling required submissions and standards when needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather any additional information required for accurate color reviews.
