Certified Veterinary Technician – Surgery

Advance your anesthesia expertise while supporting orthopedic, soft tissue, and emergency surgeries. From induction to recovery, you’ll be the patient’s advocate at every step.

Located in Central Point, Oregon, Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center (SOVSC) is the region’s only 24/7 Specialty and Emergency veterinary hospital within a 250-mile radius. Our hospital provides advanced care in Emergency, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Urgent Care services.

Schedule:   
We offer a consistent three-day work week (12-hour shifts), with generous pay differentials for weekend and overnight hours.   

Compensation:    

• $25-40 per hour - depending on experience  

What You Can Expect: 

• Advanced Anesthesia Skills: Induce, monitor, and recover patients undergoing emergency, orthopedic, and soft tissue surgeries, using multimodal anesthesia & analgesia for best patient outcomes. 

• Surgical Technology Skills: Work with ventilators, multiparameter monitors, arthroscopes, and CT technology. 

• Dynamic Learning Environment: Work alongside experienced DVMs, board-certified specialists, and dedicated technical supervisors while gaining exposure to a wide variety of cases, guaranteeing that no two days are the same.

About You: 

• Passionate about anesthesia pharmacology, surgical sterility, and patient advocacy 

• Detail-oriented and calm under pressure 

• Certified Veterinary Technician (or recent graduate preparing for the VTNE).  

• Dedicated to fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative hospital culture.  

• Passionate about delivering excellent client service and patient care.  

• Willing to jump in and support the hospital as a whole to ensure smooth daily operations.  

• An effective communicator who values teamwork and transparency.  

• Motivated to grow, eager to expand your skill set and learn advanced techniques.  

• Adaptable and compassionate, always focused on the needs of each individual patient.
