Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst who can turn data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and strategic directions. This role goes beyond traditional BI work — it combines deep analytics, data storytelling, and modern software engineering skills to power data-driven innovation, particularly in the aviation and safety analytics domain.

You’ll work on integrating BI insights into existing and emerging data analytics and AI platforms while using tools like Tableau, Power BI, and ArcGIS. If you’re equally comfortable visualizing aviation safety data and writing backend services in Java with Spring Boot, this is the opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do

• Gather, analyze, and translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
• Design and build advanced dashboards, visualizations, and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and ArcGIS.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot to support BI platforms.
• Write optimized queries and manage data pipelines using PostgreSQL and cloud-based tools (AWS or Azure).
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into BI solutions.
• Perform deep-dive analytics to identify key trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of all BI outputs.
• Contribute to data integration efforts and improve automation of reporting processes.
• Work cross-functionally with data engineers, developers, and business leaders.
• Stay up to date with industry’s best practices, tools, and technologies in BI and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or a similar data-focused role.
• Strong experience with Tableau, Power BI, and other visualization tools.
• Solid SQL skills and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in regulated industries such as aviation, finance, or healthcare.
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data governance, and data quality frameworks.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA, or FAA standards).
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques (star/snowflake schemas).
• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics tools like AWS QuickSight, Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
